Sprout still holding ~25k ZEC eight years after deprecation is the useful precedent for Ironwood: you do not need perfect historical proof if the old pool becomes economically inert and every spend has to cross a public turnstile. The market will price ZEC less like a binary “exploited or clean” story and more like a shrinking tail-liability as Orchard balances migrate. The tradeoff is that forced migration leaks timing and amount metadata, so Zcash is buying supply assurance with a controlled privacy haircut.
