CertiK says May’s confirmed exploit losses came in at about $68.3M, with $2.6M tied to phishing and roughly $9.4M recovered or returned. That is an almost 90% drop from April’s $650M run of hacks, making May the third 2026 month under $100M. Verus Protocol’s bridge exploit led the month at $11.5M, followed by THORChain at $10.1M.
