Promote with Leviathan NewsThe UK designated 18 entities and individuals on May 26 under its Russia sanctions regime, explicitly targeting crypto rails used to route funds around restrictions. The list includes Huobi Global/HTX, Exmo Exchange, Rapira, Aifory, Bitpapa, Arvix and ABCEX, alongside A7-linked banks and companies; the government says A7 claimed to move more than $90B last year and suspects one major exchange helped channel over $1.5B back to the Kremlin. Elliptic says this is the first time the UK has applied Regulation 17A to crypto exchanges, meaning UK VASPs now have to freeze exposure and block payments where designated venues show up in the chain.
