JP demoed Monero on THORChain Podcast #198 on May 14, spinning up seven nodes, funding active vaults with 0.5 XMR and 500 RUNE each, and clearing a 100 RUNE to XMR swap to his own wallet. The implementation uses a public deterministic view key, key images, and per-tx signing keys so THORChain’s Monero vault balances are auditable, with the Rust sidecar wired through Bifrost, Serai, and Monero Oxide. Mainnet now looks blocked less by core functionality and more by stress testing plus the unresolved single-vault vs multi-vault design decision, so any launch is likely to start guarded with small pools and trades.
