South Korea's FSC held its second public-private tokenized securities council on May 15 and said it is preparing subordinate rules and guidelines for release in July, ahead of the tokenized securities law taking effect on Feb. 4, 2027. The package covers issuance, distribution, infrastructure and settlement, including model rules for fractional investment securities, a roadmap for tokenizing stocks, bonds and MMFs, and onchain settlement testing. Vice Chair Kwon Dae-young signaled the regulator may allow pooled issuance of same-type fractional assets and set OTC trading limits to protect investors without choking early liquidity.
