Promote with Leviathan NewsThe DOJ's new Scam Center Strike Force restrained over $701M in crypto and seized 503 scam sites in its first major action against Southeast Asian fraud rings. Two Chinese nationals — Huang Xingshan and Jiang Wen Jie — were charged with wire fraud conspiracy for running the Shunda compound in Burma, where trafficked workers were forced to run pig butchering scams targeting Americans. Both were arrested in Thailand on immigration charges earlier this year. The action also included a first-of-its-kind seizure of a 6,000-follower Telegram channel used to recruit victims with fake high-paying job ads.
