Aztec Connect stopped accepting deposits in March 2023 and Aztec’s sequencer went dark in March 2024, leaving the long tail to users, third-party operators and old contracts. Open-source liveness after sunset is good for exits; paired with no admin keys, it also means no pause button when stale circuits get farmed. DeFi teams need public residual-TVL dashboards and long-tail monitoring for deprecated systems, because a sunset notice does not stop users from treating the brand as a safety label.
