The bid lands after months of pro-Trump signaling from SBF and outreach by his parents, but it is still a long shot: Trump previously said he should not count on clemency even after pardoning Ross Ulbricht, CZ and BitMEX’s co-founders. The FTX collapse exposed an $8B hole after CoinDesk’s Alameda balance-sheet report, which is why this pardon push will hit very differently from the crypto clemencies Trump has already granted.
