Lens Chain is live

Lens Chain, a modular Ethereum-secured Layer 2 network purpose-built for SocialFi, has officially gone live on mainnet with the deployment of Lens Protocol V3, moving the Lens ecosystem off Polygon and onto its own dedicated infrastructure. Built using zkSync’s ZK Stack and Avail for data availability, the chain is designed to support high-throughput social applications with low fees, gasless transactions, account abstraction and USD-denominated gas, as well as onchain content storage via its Grove system. Lens Chain forms the core of a broader “full-stack” social platform that combines the chain itself, a modular social protocol with primitives like profiles, feeds and graphs, and decentralized storage nodes. The launch follows Lens’s growth since its initial deployment on Polygon in 2022 and its migration plan announced in 2024, backed by a $31 million strategic round and a partnership deal that included 0.5% of zkSync’s ZK token supply for joining the zkSync elastic network. With roughly 650,000 existing Lens profiles and tens of millions of social connections migrating over time, the new chain is positioned as infrastructure for onchain social and “social plus finance” applications, where content, identity, and monetization live directly on a scalable L2. Day-one integrations with infrastructure providers such as Across for bridging and LI.FI for swaps and cross-chain connectivity are intended to make it easier for developers and users to move assets into Lens and build SocialFi apps that interoperate with the wider Ethereum ecosystem.
